End of School countdown!
ode to the 8th graders
By Staff Writer Mazie Shaffer
“My favorite memory was going to Washington D.C. with the class.” “I don’t think I can pick a favorite teacher, I liked them all.” “My favorite part from D.C. was probably Medieval times.” “Some advice I would share is to just enjoy the year as much as you can, it goes by fast.” “My favorite events are the pep rallies or the dances, I can’t decide!”
Those quotes you all just read are some of the things that the eighth grade shared about their year. The eighth graders are role models to many of the seventh graders here and it’s sad to see them leave. We asked them to fill out a paper in I.E. answering questions and sharing memories from this year. We got some great responses!
Just about all of the eighth graders said that going to D.C. was their favorite memory. Whether it was the bus ride there and back or seeing the trees blooming, they loved it all. Some of them even enjoyed the food courts the best. They said to look forward to it and they definitely recommend going.
Then, we asked them who their favorite teacher(s) were. There were so many answers saying that everyone loved their teachers and they made the eighth grade year the best! One thing that they wanted to tell us is that if you want to make Jurey mad, say her name over and over again, but they definitely don’t recommend it!
A couple of other things we asked them were, “What was your favorite event this year?” and, “What dance was your favorite?” Those two went hand in hand and the most common favorite dance was the neon dance. Between the music and the friends, it was a favorite.
The last thing that we asked them was, “Do you have any advice for any upcoming eighth graders?” There were a variety of answers. Here are a few we thought really helped. “You always want to try your best, strive to be the best version of you.” “Don’t fall down any steps:)” “Don’t be scared to talk to new people and make new friends, just be you.”
We want to thank the eighth graders for a great year. We have all made memories we will never forget. We wish them all luck at the high school next year. We know they will do great!
Student Teacher Basketball Game Assembly
By Staff Writer Brianna Becerra
The student vs teacher basketball game on April 1st was quite the experience. We all gathered at the end of the day to watch the faceoff. The effort on both teams was amazing, but the teachers came out on top, again! The athletes gave it their all, and so did the teachers. The gym was filled with screams for both teams. What a great way to start off spring break!
